Aurelion Research is an independent publication focused on overlooked stocks, investment themes, and commodities. We are former analysts with experience at institutional investment funds. We saw too much research shaped by Wall Street incentives, so we built Aurelion to be transparent. A key part of what we do is actively managing and sharing our portfolio alongside our research.

We do what AI can’t: talk to CEOs and CFOs, visit sites, and speak with investors.

Concisely presented so you get what matters.

We buy our own stock ideas, and our portfolio has significantly outperformed most benchmarks since inception.

Our commodity track record speaks for itself, including calling the 2025 chemical rebound, the shipping recovery following the 2024 downturn, and the 2025 gold and silver bull market, which we exited in early 2026.

Our mission to you: ensure you never run out of quality stock ideas for your own portfolio or fund, while staying sharp and up to date on markets.

New Stock Ideas

These are companies identified on their own merits, with a standalone thesis. The opportunity is simply too compelling to pass on. Each name has cleared our full research process for inclusion in our portfolio, the “Aurelion Index”.

In most cases, we have spoken with the management of the company or conducted differentiated research to gain an edge. Our ideas are long-only (no derivatives, no leverage, and no minimum position sizing). They are across global markets, but a meaningful percentage are listed on U.S. exchanges.

We screen hundreds of ideas per year, but publish only 10-20.

Thematic Primers

We turn investment themes into actionable stock ideas, with a strong emphasis on timing. A well understood, high-conviction theme can fail to generate returns if the timing is off and the positioning is already crowded. We therefore only publish when key developments are starting to materialize.

Once we identify where the opportunity lies within a theme, we publish an equity basket of beneficiary companies. The basket is intentionally small. Each company is researched independently on its own merits, not just because it fits the theme. The best name earns a spot in the Aurelion Index, giving two separate ways to be right: on the theme, and on the stock.

We are constantly looking for an edge over the market, which is why we conduct field research globally, including in Japan, Lithuania, the U.S. and other regions, to meet companies, visit production sites, and participate in conferences.

These pieces stay relevant for years because they cover the entire theme and its supply chain. New subscribers should start with the archive.

Memos

A timely update on an active theme and where it is heading. When a theme has played out or is no longer attractive, we say so clearly. A good exit is as important as a good entry.

Commodity Takes

When conviction is high, we share where we expect things to go. We often express this view through commodity-related companies that are added to the Aurelion Index.

Trades of the Year

A comprehensive list of trades we see as highly relevant for the upcoming year. It spans multiple themes, each broken down into actionable equity ideas. The goal is a wide set of pre-researched setups so you start the new year with many ideas.

Coming late December 2026.

Miscellaneous

Updates on portfolio companies, performance updates, global news that is too interesting not to discuss, and thought exercises on global markets.

And of course, you can view the Aurelion Index positions and weights, updated weekly here.

FAQ

What types of stocks are in your portfolio?

Only our highest-conviction ideas make it into the Aurelion Index.

We focus on undervalued small and mid-cap stocks across global markets, with a primary focus on the United States, and exposure to Canada, Europe, Japan, and South America. Every position is backed by detailed research and we typically add 1-2 new ideas per month, actively removing positions when the thesis plays out or a better opportunity comes along.

What are your thematic pieces and what do I get out of them?

Our thematic pieces cover the major trends shaping markets today, written from the ground up so anyone can follow along. No prior knowledge needed. By the end, you will understand the topic and know exactly what to do next.

Why smaller companies?

Large companies are already heavily researched, but stocks under $15B are often underfollowed. That creates opportunities when share prices diverge from real business value. We have found many of our best investments in this space and will continue to focus there. In less efficient markets, our primary research matters even more.

What makes your stock analysis different?

1. Boots-on-the-ground research. We visit companies, meet management teams directly, and build our own financial models.

2. Focus on real cash generation. We focus on what cash a business actually produces and what reaches shareholders, not accounting-based proxies.

3. Concentration over diversification. We hold only our best ideas.

I am not sure I will use everything, is this for me?

That is normal. Most subscribers join for one main reason.

If you are here for the research, the portfolio is proof that we have conviction in what we write because we are constantly judged by it. If you are here for the stock ideas, the research is your proof. Every position comes with a full thesis, so you know exactly why we own it.

How do I follow or replicate the portfolio and baskets?

There are three levels, depending on how hands-on you want to be.

Paid subscribers can view the full portfolio positions and weights, updated weekly.

Aurelion Live subscribers get the real time version through the Plutus platform, including live weights and trade history for the Index and all thematic baskets. This is a view access, no investment account is needed.

If you want the portfolio replicated automatically in your own brokerage account, that is done through Plutus, which handles execution and rebalancing. This is optional and separate from the subscription tiers. Visit Plutus at runplutus.com.

As a reminder, none of this is investment advice. The Index is a model portfolio published for research transparency, view complete disclosure at aurelionresearch.com.

How do I upgrade a subscription?

Whether you are a free subscriber upgrading to Paid or a Paid subscriber moving to the Aurelion Live tier, sign in to your account on Substack and follow the instructions found here.

Can I engage in the Substack chat?

Absolutely. We highly encourage participation in our chat by replying to discussion threads. Thoughtful debate benefits everyone.
